AMP-5
Potent Coronary & Skeletal Muscle Vasodilator
What Is It?
AMP-5 is a potent natural vasodilator which produces a marked increase in blood circulation to both skeletal and cardiac muscle.
What's In It?
Adenosine-5-monophosphate 200 mg/mL
What Does It Do?
AMP-5 is indicated for use in anticipation of severe cardiac load.
In performance horses, as well as in situations where increased blood perfusion to lower legs and feet is required (laminitis, lower leg wounds)or in treatment of myocardial oxygen deficit as evidenced by performance linked ECG changes.
Because of its ability to improve tissue blood supply AMP-5 is of value in preventing Tying Up Syndrome.
How Does It Work?
By producing a marked increase in blood supply to muscles and heart,AMP-5 increases the oxygen and essential nutrient supply to these areas during hard work, and improves the efficiency of removal of waste products such as lactic acid, to delay the onset of muscle fatigue. AMP-5 is of value in treatment and prevention of Tying Up for these reasons Because of its potent vasodilation effect on cardiac muscles, AMP-5 is effective in treatment and prevention of heart strain and exercise induced "T Wave" changes in horses.
How Is It Used?
If AMP-5 is given immediately before anticipated severe cardiac load (hard work), it may protect a susceptible horse from exertional cardiacT wave ECG changes, and improve blood and nutrient supply, as well as waste product removal, from hard working cardiac and skeletal muscle. Give Horses 10 mL by intramuscular injection, 24 hours and again 4 hours before hard work.
Trainers Tips
|
Sprinters
|
May benefit from the combination of AMP-5 and CREATINE. "Load" CREATINE with daily doses for at least three days leading up to race. and give AMP-5 24 hours. and again 3-4 hours pre-event.
|
Muscle Buffering
|
Use AMP-5 in combination with COPHOS B 24 hours and again 4 -6 hours pre-event, to improve blood and nutrient supply to hard Working muscles, improve the elimination of wastes such as lactic acid, and improve the neutralising of lactic acid by providing phosphate, the primary muscle Buffer
|
Tying Up
|
AMP-5 given 24 hours, and again 4 hours pre-event, with TRIPART at 48 hours, 24 hours, and 4 -6 hours pre-event may help to delay the onset of muscle fatigue and cramping.
|
CAUTION
AMP-5 must ONLY be administered by intramuscular injection
Do not administer AMP-5 injection by the intravenous route under any circumstances. This may lead to a profound rapid drop in blood pressure, with collapse, and even death
Can It Be Used With Anything Else?
Yes. AMP-5 is commonly used in combination with COPHOS B, TRIPART or. AMP-5 is safely used with all Nature Vet products.
