An off-white, granular powder containing 220mg/g elemental zinc as an organic polysaccharide complex.
Action
Zinc is an essential trace element for over 250 enzymes systems, many associated with the immune system, and necessary for connective tissue strength and integrity.The polysaccharide complex protects zinc from rumenal antagonists such as calcium and iron, enabling the zinc to pass to the small intestine for predictable absorption
Indications
A bioavailable zinc supplement for cattle where organic zinc supplementation may be beneficial. Benfits may include improved milk production, reduced somatic cell counts, improved hoof health and integrity, and improved immunocompetence.
Contraindications
Not for use as a prevention for facial eczema.
Toxicity/Antidote
None observed when fed at recommended rates.

Dosage and Administration
QT Zinc provides 220mg elemental zinc per gram. The benefits from organic forms of zinc have generally been reported from the supplementation of 300-400mg Zn/cow/day. As a general recommendation, give 1.5g QT Zinc/cow/day to provide 330mgZn/cow/day. Hoof health benefits have been reported following a dosage of 70mg/cow/day for 40 weeks.
1 Kg QT Zinc powder 22% disperses easily in 4 litres of water. 6ml of the mixture then provides 330mg zinc. 1Kg QT Zinc treats 666 cows at the rate of 330mgZn/cow/day.
